Strawflower seeds - farm whites

Available November 15th 2023

Strawflower is a staple in our garden, it is lovely fresh but it really shines in the colder months when we are relying on dried florals for designing as it dries almost true to colour on long strong stems. This is our third year with our own strawflower seed line, and we are really starting to seed the benefits of selective seed saving. We choose large, fluffy heads on tall robust plants, in muted colours. Our seed patch has a mixture of bright white, blush, peach, and muted orange flowers. These seeds are from the white flowers, and I expect other colours to make an appearance within this batch next season because our seeds are open pollinated, it’s up to the bees!

How to grow strawflower: scatter tiny seeds evenly on top of sterile soil indoors in late winter, seeds need light to germinate. Mist lightly until seedlings appear, thin as desired. Plant out after danger of frost has passed leaving approximately 8” between plants

Approximately 125 seeds

All of our seeds are open pollinated and organically grown in Qualicum Beach, BC
