Cosmo Seeds - Frilly Cutting Mix

This is our third year with this seed line and it gets better each season. Genetics for this mix come mainly from double click, rose bonbon, fizzy rose picotee, snow puff, psyche, and seashell varieties. We opt for strains with ruffled petals, soft colors, and long strong stems for plants that are both perfect for cutting and have a true cottage garden look.

How to grow cosmos: 

Plant 2” apart. ½” deep - thin to 8-12” apart (we leave 12” because we prune our plants early, so they get huge!) Start indoors in late winter and plant out after the first frost, or direct sow after the first frost. Snip top of plant off when three sets of true leaves emerge, continue this practice for the life of the plant, letting flowers bloom and then snipping each stem to within three sets of leaves from the base of the stem. This encourages branching plants up to 7’ tall which will produce more and more blooms until first frost. Cosmos grows best in fertile, well drained soils in full sun.
